Trendy Vs. Tacky

We've all seen her. I'm talking about the girl who has it all pulled together. The hair, the make up, and of course the clothes. Whenever you happen to spot her she is dressed to impress. And then we have all seen the other 'her.' The one who stands out for the wrong reasons. She's the one that has her hair haphazardly done up, is wearing too much make up, and is a walking advertisement for five different brands. Now I'm not suggesting that wearing nice brands is a bad thing. I love my designer bag as much as the next girl, but when you are wearing five different labels in one outfit and displaying them proudly isn't the most classy thing to do. My advice is to stick to no more than two displayed labels in an ensemble. And they have to be subtle, or else I just stick to one. For example, I might wear my Juicy (Couture) hoodie with a plain white tee and jeans versus wearing my Aeropostale hoodie, Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirt, Ugg boots, and Betsey Johnson earrings. On the other hand, if all of the items don't have the brand name all over them it could work. (Example: The Aeropostale hoodie has a print or design and doesn't have the label all across the front of it, the Abercrombie tee is just a plain color, and the earrings and the boots are the only items you are able to identify the brand of.) Another bonus to not having a million labels on your clothes is that the pieces can go with anything. That way and you can develop your own sense of style and not follow what the stores' mannequins are wearing. So be the right her and help the other ones out.
